What I Could've Done

I take my time thinking of you
Knowing I could've taken the chance
Thinking of what we could've been
With something as simple as a dance
I suppose you could say we were friends
I loved you; did you even know?
You told me not to cry; this is not goodbye
But it will be hard to let you go.
My time to see you has come and gone
And I will have to continue without
Hold my head high, force myself not to cry
Can't stop myself from thinking about...
How you secretly won me over, in spite of me
And how I knew it was wrong, but you were all I could see...
I take my time, lying awake
Looking through pictures of me and you
I know you'll be in my dreams, and
In my head, with everything I do
I wish we could've had more time
Perhaps it would've been the same
But what if it had grew, into something new
What if my timid actions are to blame?
If I had the chance, I'd write you a letter
That would certainly catch you off guard
Containing my affection; no ordinary obsession
But your possible rejection would be too hard.
I spend my summer days, sitting out in the sun
Remembering all the games we have won
Thinking of your eyes, as gorgeous as chocolate skies
And I wonder...
What else could I have done?
