Take away every promise

Contributed by sorrowsofabrokenheart on Monday, 1st June 2009 @ 06:07:04 AM in AEST
Topic: ApologyPoetry

I don't know why it's so hard to say
But I can't seem to admit I don't feel the same
When this began it was so easy
A feeling I knew you could see
Now I stare at the old pictures
And I realized things have changed
I lost myself inside these fears
Afraid my past had followed me here
In my head it was just a matter of time
Convinced you would just walk away
I never let go of my own doubt
Now I lay in bed full of guilt
Everything reminds me of you
It's not the loneliness that hurts
I have so many others around me
It's knowing how I feel
And seeing who I've been
How chould I be so blind
I can't expect you too trust me now
With every empty promise I've already made
How could I think you still knew
When My actions said something so much different
But I love you more now then when this began
To proud to admit I was scared to death
You slipped away, And I just watched
Now I just hope that its not to late
Because with newly opened eyes
I know I can make good on every promise made
Still these are nothing more then words to you
When everytime you trusted in me
I've only failed and let you down
But I know now what I swore I knew then
Take away every promise
This time I'll just show you who I've become
And I'll give back trust and revive this love

This is a beautifully strong, and heartfelt piece....
I really feel the sense of truth and sincerity in your words, very nicely written.
