I know a thing
Not known by all,
A thing upon which
A man’s fortunes may fall.
It is something so horrid,
So awful and gross,
It would leave him in ruin,
Forever morose.
It is a dark secret
He wouldn’t want told,
The kind with potential
For profit if sold.
A redeemable token
That never expires.
A card to be played
when cruelty desires.
A morsel of power
I hold over his being.
It makes me his God
All knowing, all seeing.
Yet it must not be parlayed
It must never be played
For he too knows a secret
And a bargain’s been made
