I thought I had let every part of you go -
then it rains again.
[I thought I was okay.]
In the winter -
gray skies, numbing cold, searing wind;
it's so easy to forget you
because you are summer, to me.
[I'm okay.]
Cloudy nights, full moon;
mean absolutely nothing
only the stars make me remember.
[But don't worry - it's okay.]
When there's a rainbow, I remember playing under the colors
'second chance' makes me think of my best friend.
But sunsets always bring me back to your eyes,
and the maine plays our song.
[I'll be okay, someday.]
You aren't flame nor smoke -
bonfires make me long for those mischievous night.
But whenever you come near me,
I can feel the sparks fly.
[Don't lie to say you're okay.]
The sun will make my skin burn and sweat;
and your memory will fade,
just long enough for the clouds to roll and thunder to boom -
I'll forget you until the summer nights when it rains again.
You were rain, to me.
