Phantom ships follow me
Remind me of dreams at the sea
Forgotten for no reason at all
Other than forgetting to recall
Desires once fueled my being
A rose color over all I was seeing
The world at my fingertips at last
Now merely hopes that eventually passed
A battlefield of who I was
Excuses like if, why, or because
Alone with no passion but to rest
Surpassed my prime, tried my best
Eighteen years old
Yet empty as hell
Deriving my secrets
To kiss and tell.
