The room is silent--dead silent;
The void of noise beats loudly in my mind.
Without sound all the other senses scream out in violence;
The ghostly white walls make my eyes blind.
The taste of silence makes me hunger for sound;
The scent of lavender overcomes me in a subdued state.
With the touch of my chest I must check to feel my heart pound;
Noise sometimes bothers me, but its silence that frustrates.
Quiet is a blanket of peace covering the soul of mishap;
it is wished for by many but is glady given away.
Noise has a way of breaking free of silence's trap;
What would the world be like if quiet chose to stay?
