So this wheel has turned and is back again
A place I thought I left
I laugh now as I realize the truth
That all life is a cycle
We end where we begin
Starting again and come round to the same place
Why is the inevitability of this life so certain
A cyclical nature that can not be escaped
I looked into the past and saw myself right where I am
I cocked my head and wondered why
Like the clouds opening during a storm
I can run and hide but can’t escape the truth
I fight and claw and break the skin
Bleed on the ground and grin
I am a hamster running this wheel
Stuck in a place I can not escape

Nicely written. The hamster wheel image is quite effective. |
