PHANTOM CHASER

Going solo, no one else to follow
Lonesome heroes, facing empty mirrors
Looming figures, fingers on the triggers
Lurking monsters, devilish impostors

Wheels screech and the car goes tumbling over
Nobody’s going to survive the fall
Blood streams flush the brain and cause hangover
Horror movies, nightmare ravings, letters on the wall

Chorus:

I feel cheated and mistreated
And there’s nothing I can do
If I could stop the game
And let myself recover from the blow
This search for love has ended now
And it has been no use
Used to try to chase
The phantoms in the night

Hidden treasures and forbidden pleasures
Ancient sculptures, carrion-eating vultures
Secret chambers, diamonds, pearls and ambers
Magic healers, mystery revealers

Slow down, there’s no need for us to hurry
But life is short, our time is running out
Look up, watch the stars and please don’t worry
Don’t try to lock me up, to hold me down, to leave me out
The story’s coming to an end, goodbye, my friend.
