Made To Be Broken

Contributed by Faithfully_a_Wallflower on Monday, 25th May 2009 @ 10:00:26 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

It feels like I've been wounded since this first started
Uh oh, its another anthem for the broken hearted
And I'm sending shout outs to all my friends
Wishing with willingness that this suffering ends
From the day that I entered into the realm of chances
My life has been a topsy-turvy ride of romances
And when the it girl became my adolescent fantasy
I was lost in the drama of an artificial world of popularity
A friendship should never mean "what have you done for me lately"
And you can't call it love when its based off rejection and uncertainty
There's more to life than your first teenage obsession
This time I hope that I learned my lesson
A heart's a heart no matter what pieces are still there
And love can be lust or love can be lost and sometimes its not fair
So sometimes it feels like I'm made to be broken
These tears marked for fears and all the years and words I've never spoken
I tip my hat to everyone that I've ever known
Here's to drama, life, and all of the ways we've grown
Our names will always be the same but our faces change
And in time love will touch us all and our lives will rearrange

Great write my friend, i especially liked:
"A heart's a heart no matter what pieces are still there". Though i disagree with this.
"With every wound a part of me dies,
For all my memories a part of me cries,
So take my heart, bleed it and brake it,
But don't let anyone else take it."
Best of luck!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
