Goodbye my friend
We have shared so much
From laughter to anger
To a soft gentle touch
And over the years
When I think back to that time
I will remember the laughter
And a friend so kind
You’re forever in my heart
And I will think of you and smile
The moments we shared
Transient the miles
For whenever I think
I’m not good enough
The one thing you taught me
Is I can be tough
I’m so glad you entered
My life for a while
When our paths cross again
Please see me and smile
For you were not just my companion
But a dear friend for life
And whenever you need me
I’ll be there with advise
When you need words of encouragement
I’ll be there to say
I Love You like you are
Please don’t ever change

This is a warm, good natured poem. I think it flows very well and has a lot of good advice of its own on how to treat friendships and letting go while still knowing that person will always be a part of your life. Nicely done.
