Sowing What's Reaped

Contributed by lastwaltz on Thursday, 27th March 2003 @ 01:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: ApologyPoetry

I stand here empty
Hollowed out from giving it all
To petty fights
And dreams that were broken from the start

My courage spent on wars that mattered to no one
But myself
My strength was spent fighting no enemy
But myself
My voice was spent screaming at everyone
But myself

So I stand here empty
Proud of nothing
But the simple fact
That I stand at all

I love this!! Sometimes the only thing that you can manage is to keep standing. I remember saying to my mum once that if she could manage nothing else, just keep breathing. Sometimes that is all you can do.
