So called Friendship

You’ll smile at them but not at me…
Do you cringe when it’s me you see?
You’ll constantly laugh and talk over the phone…
Do you pretend or actually care that I am alone?
A friend is what I need with my heart and soul
My emotions are a mess – something like a cocktail fishbowl
My loneliness so strong, it cannot be cured by a drink
Everything said and done makes me stutter, makes me think
Thoughts rush through my veins where my blood use to roam,
My life seems to disappear, like the high tide’s foam… on the sand
That I used to, so playfully, let slip through my hand
I see the look and body language you used to give me
1000 girls : is that what it’s like to be free?
The friendship I gave you lies under your bed, on the floor…
Tell me, I beg you… What must I give you, what more?
