its just too late

Topic: MiscPoems

its far too late for you to beg me to stay
and i know for me this is the death of today
i dont need this anymore
im tired of being the whore
for you or anyone else
tired of going through this silent execution
of expecting more than i should
thinking that i was better
not so simple
not a tool
but i found out too late that this is
no place for governors, love stories, or
weeping.

i will fall to pieces
i will cry a million tears
and yet ill never learn to feel

theres no need to worry
cause ive already left
there's no need to hurry
you'll never catch me
don't bother taking hold
im far too cold
for you to touch me

god, if you would only touch me ...
but its too late for all this nonsense.

i will fall to pieces
i will cry a million tears
and you'll never know that im here.

I get confused by this. Maybe I am reading it wrong but half of it seems to be saying "leave me alone" and half says "I need you". Maybe I am reading it wrong.

mixed messages indeed. i'm in two minds as to what this one is about - either way its powerful, full of emotion and rhythmic in its own way. great write, hope it isn't your last, Kate x

....well i normally dont explain what my poems mean to me, but since you're so confused...its about my struggle within myself of whether i should "keep going" or whether its not even worth it anymore and i should "give it all up". So i guess thats it. maybe you see more because i know a few people that overanalyze things but everything in my poems is pretty blunt and straight forward. -david
