The Fear

Sometimes I feel
The walls inside collapsing
A fear unknown rushes towards me
Dislocated and trembling
I listen to the riot within
Left and thrown aside
With panic stricken eyes
Feeling the walls for a way out
Pushing tears back inside
I dream
Sometimes I see
The shadows creeping in
The real seems out of reach
How come the room is so small?
The bed so empty
The ashtray overflowing
The sounds so muffled, faces blurred
How come nobody’s beside me?
Everybody’s happy
And so close seems now the ceiling
Danger lurks on my floor
Screaming under the pillow
A thousand blades invade my body
Can’t look away
Can’t get away
Gasping for air
I live
And sometimes I try
Pasting together the pieces in the dark
A sad soul keeps me company
As future goals drag me out
I am the pigeon eating your crumbs
And the veil covering your bride
The word destined to hurt your pride
The picture that summons your tears
The regret that will make you crush
I am what you believe it says
And I will wait till you lose your trust
Tell me how far do I have to go?
How soon the release will come?
Tell me where I want to go?
And will that make you proud?
Leave me be I say
Closing my eyes
Here comes the fear conquering the walls,
The bed, the air and the light
Nothing is safe anymore
Guide me to the womb
Where hope resides
Guide me to the womb
Where hope resides
