Save the Last Dance for Me

Topic: LoveRemembered

Save the Last Dance for me
After the years,
When you've grown cold and lonely,
And you can't face your fears,
When you don't know the difference
Between the night and the day,
When there's a fork in the road
And you can't find your way.
Dance with me then
When it's just you and me,
After the ages,
In some distant memory,
When the sun slips past
And all is left are your tears,
Save one dance for me
To last through the years.
When the music begins
To slowly, softly fade,
And it's harder to make decisions,
And things are harder to say,
Remember I'm here,
Save it for me,
Keep me locked in your heart,
In your memories.
Dance with me there
When the world is through,
Hold me close in your dreams,
And I'll save my last dance for you.

Hi ginsdance (catchy handle, don`t have a clue what it means but catchy anyways)
I thought I`d go back to some of your earlier stuff and see if there was any difference in the quality.......not that I can see. This is very powerful, (are you sure you`re only 17?), written with such maturity and wisdom. This is a beautiful poem. This one begs to be put to music, a nice sloooooooow dance.
