LoveRemembered

That Wedding Day photograph
Stands on the tables side,
A black-and-white picture
Of a Husband and his Bride.
She looks and reflects upon
That picture of wedded bliss,
Those childhood sweethearts
Sealed their love with a kiss.
Fifty years have flown by
Since that momentous day,
Now that rose has left her cheek
And her hair has turned dull grey.
But, her memories are still warm
And fresh is her youthful heart;
Love and romance still blooms
As it did at the very start.
She sits in her chair and smiles,
Then clasps that photo to her chest
Reminiscing over those times
That to her are the very best.
Just then, her aged husband
Walks through the kitchen door
And gives her a winning look
Just like fifty years before.

A picture perfect memory. There is something soft and so tender inside
these words. A kindness almost. Through this piece the depth and passion
of a half-century love affair is woven with the beauty and innocence of
the most profound love. It's lovely. Just lovely.
