Your Blue Summer

Sun plays across your blues,
giving me my own summer
far away from the hot breeze.
A half-smile holds a secret,
while those hands steal my heart
straight from my sleeve.
Strong arms huddle around me,
I feel safe when I'm with you
away from the summer heat.
But now I feel the burn,
blue flames have new meaning
as they scorch what's destroyed.
I had summer during winter,
but not even my thickest sweater
could keep me warm.

Very good write! I love your imagery. I feel like the poem was heading in one direction and then took a sudden turn...that may be how the relationship played out.
Good write though...I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Thanks again for sharing!
