Midnight Flight to Nowhere

Contributed by manbeast on Thursday, 14th May 2009 @ 08:17:28 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

see the time go by, it’s slow and fast
see the apples falling to the road
ask your mother what it means
new pollution creeps into your lungs
realize that you can’t scrape this up
what is better than what was
seems we’ve known it all forever
where do we get off
on a midnight flight to nowhere
where do we get off

see the time go by will changes last
sit and watch progress unravel
nothing’s still the same as nothing was
what will touchdown bring when we get off
how will living seem when life brings death
just how it’s always been is all there is
what has dying done for anyone
time is nothing why did we take off
on a midnight flight to nowhere
why did we take off

see the time stand still for sugar cubes
could it be tomorrow’s in the past
go from here to there in half a day
yesterday it took a month of life
when you get there circle for three hours
hurry up and wait it makes no sense
think of all the prairie dogs you missed
what’s the use of flying if we don’t arrive
on a midnight flight to nowhere
when do we feel alive
