Failure

Contributed by Innocent_Sinner on Thursday, 14th May 2009 @ 12:48:39 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Failure is all I am
One after another
They all come falling upon me
On my shoulders
Like the rain pouring down on me
Like the tears falling down my cheeks

Have you ever felt how I feel now?
Like everything you've worked for has gone to waste?
Like your life is at an end?
Like nothing you ever do will matter now?
The harder I try, the more that I lose
And I can't seem to get any further in life

Rain, pouring down my cheeks, my body
The disappointment spreads throughout me
Like a candle, fallen to the floor
Soon to burn the entirety of my being
There is no more fight left
I won't try to put the fire out.

I can't keep going on like this
In this daze some would call a life
The anguish of failure
Is looming in my mind
Bringing on the burning pain
The tears I cry so often now

I stare up at the gray sky
Finding that it resembles my soul
Gray, dull, boring
Filled with failure upon failure
I have nothing to live for, except her
She will keep me alive, and nothing more

The arms around me now tell me
All I truly need is her
But the pain of failure still lurks
In the depths of my mind
Like an assassin in a dark alley
Set out to kill for my failure.
