Taking a Spring drive on a whispy windy day,
I am entranced by the peaceful puffy clouds.
This moment depicts life's Utopian ways;
just then time stops and I witness a flash of scarlet and black flap its wings loudly.
Fate gave this musical-winged wonder another chance;
my heart is pounding, and my senses are relaxing.
I ponder how I would have ever again danced,
if death came thrashing.
The red-winged faery would give me night terrors;
I would cry a cureless sea of sorrow.
For fate has its way of rejecting errors;
unfortunately, fate is spontaneous--not borrowed.

I am happy the beautiful bird did not perish on the front of your car. Exciting write and the ending a good wise note.

I remember when I thought I had hit a bird on the way home once.
I couldn't tell what had happened to it as it glanced off the edge of the windscreen, but I was thinking about it for days
