Tonight was another night of my watching eyes
As mothers got wasted as kids slept away
Forgotten of the night, your pain showed through
A day of remembrance for all that you do
Tears were shed, and emotions flared
Hate and anger for being forget.
Mothers recognize those feelings you feel
For your child might be like me, and feel what I feel
Everything that you felt this one night
Is what we live with everyday
We have learned to hide the hurt
Close it off to the world
We watch as others break under its call
Welcome to a nightmare, don’t heed it’s call
Some of us might blame you, some it’s not your fault
Others have lost you, maybe some knew not at all
To those mothers that have been forgotten on this day
I wish peace, for this road I walk is bleak
Be mindful of your child, for they will always need you
A mothers love can be all that saves them form the edge
Don’t turn a blind eye, or say that’s not my kid
Being forgotten on day like today, will always cut deep
But some of us kids have wounds that run deeper
Heed these words or ignore them, I care not
I give these words to all that will listen
A story of road that has been traveled.
