I look in the mirror
But all I see is emotion beaming back at me
Blindng all other paths and enslaving what was once free
I'm mesmerised by the clarity of his stare
Pure and moist
Like tears from heaven sparkling with the shimmers of morning's dew
Focused on me with intensity resembling anger
Searching for the key to unlock the door inside of me
I broke my shackles of despair, but never escaping his haunting glare
Revealing familiar regions on his face
A pronounced nose, smooth full lips, strong chin,
And brown skin the tone of my mother's
I stick m fingers in my face to find the origin of this place
My father was what I found, a loved king who lost his crown
The love he received never dies, you will always be dad
In my eyes
