Till Death Do Us Part

Topic: DarkPoetry

‘T were ages long before this dawn that in my bosom swelled
A sadness keen with jealousy unable to be quelled.
So listen now and listen well, for all the world beheld
Her beauty as a beacon for the lands where moonlight dwelled.

‘T was nigh upon the hillside overlooking half the world
We sat in perfect silence whilst our destinies unfurled
For yon the setting sunlight dwellest far beyond the earth
Before the moon came hither, gleaming bright in its rebirth.

A canopy of twinkles from the sprinkles of the sky
Gave credence for a wrinkle in their jealous little eyes
Within the realm of envy there were others passing by
With eyes upon her beauty like the scheming fireflies.

By now the moon had risen high beyond the woodland line
And taken seat upon the stars with thievery in mind.
They leered with all the pressures that the universe compels
And schemed to steal my love away to where their mischief dwells.

Her eyes were drawn to passion as she lay her head reclined
To where she donned a glowing mien the heavens rarely find.
She opened up to welcome all advancements facing her.
To sick and dross beguilement from clever cosmic lure.

I could not stand the pressure or to see my love betray
The feelings of our treasure for a glimpse of nature’s way.
So in my jealous hatred on that twilight gleaming hill
I placed my hands around her neck and squeezed with all my will.

Lo! Intrepid phantoms that betrothed her hand to mine
I plead thee leave her lolling in the seas of endless time
Not fair! Not fair! To steal her now whilst happiness be found
And store her down within the earth six feet beneath the ground.
