I wasn’t great but I was okay
I could see each day into the next
My grin was real, but I couldnt laugh
Then I found you
Everything was better and you made my day
Just to hear the silly thing that you had to say
My smile was bigger and I could laugh out loud
You made it worth it to get up in the morning
But you did something that I wasn’t expecting
You made me fall in love
You made me fall in love with you
But it was only a one way road
At the beginning you made me happy
A positive contribution to my life
Then you became unhealthy
Because you made me fall in love with you
You went from vitamins to heroine in one easy stride
You weren’t a healthy supplement
You were a killer addiction, and I was hooked
And slowly without warning I lost control
It got to the point, where you were more than everything
You weren’t always on my mind
You were my mind
Everything I did became about you
You made me blind
I was blind to what had happened
I didn’t know you were bad for me until
I was hooked on you
Then I realised you were in love after all
But you weren’t in love with me
It was the girl next door, the total opposite to me
That managed to make you love her
And Then I thought I had moved on
And I thought you’d never be back
But then you were back with a vengeance
Hell bent on making me fall in love again
I tried to resist, I tried to walk away
But then you said the silly things you always used to say
And I couldn’t help it I fell in love again
And I’m still in love, and so are you.
But it’s with the girl next door.
