T was near the snow filled winter months
That in his heart he doth beguile
All the world that he confronts
With only his developed smile
Across the cold unsheltered streets
He lingers for awhile
No shoes were worn upon his feet
But yet he kept his smile.
A man would pass and stare with hate
But stay he all the while.
And though the man may aggravate
He stood there with his smile.
The solar clock had found its way
Around three times the dial
Perhaps the man would move this day
And cast away his smile.
But in his cause for misery
Remained there in exile
Until the morgue brought company
And robbed him of his smile.
