The Peoples Princess

Contributed by thewizard on Monday, 4th May 2009 @ 10:45:13 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

Chased like an animal
For a picture of her face
Hunted by predators
A Princess with grace

Eyes that pierced like an arrow
Diana, such a beauty to behold
So much tragedy in her life
A legacy we all hold

Showing no fear
Be it bombs or war
Aids or starvation
So much pain she saw

Yet throughout her life
Giving compassion and care
Not afraid to show emotion
She was always there

With love in her heart
Our Princess, the peoples Queen
Never mind her troubles
She was there to be seen

Bringing up Harry and William
To be as normal as could be
Within the rules of the royal court
To be as you and me

Her people loved her
Then on one tragic day
She was no longer there
Her life was taken away

Her death in Paris
To this day unsolved
No one brought to book
The outcome not resolved

The loss of our Princess
Saddened a nation to the core
For me, but a common man
It is sad, she is there no more

This is a truly beautiful poem... worthy of Diana herself!

Really nice tribute.
