Lament of the older brother

Contributed by owkenny on Saturday, 2nd May 2009 @ 08:17:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Tributes

I dont know any other way to deal with what Im feeling
So Ill just write it down and hope It doesnt lose meaning
God, I wish so bad that i was asleep dreaming
but youre gone now with barely any notice of leaving

Everyday I tried to be an influence and big brother
But then just like that, you were both taken from your mother
Never before have i struggled to have my heart be so covered
I chose to be family and would not have any other

All the days on the basketball court
Everytime you took forever in the store
every word at me you praised and swore
and now all i want is that some more

I watched you two both grow up
from the days of learning to learning too much
and tried to show you what a real man is made of
and the difference between lust and love

Youve been gone for an hour and I already miss you
Not even at your new home and I started having emotional issues
whats gonna happen now, i have no clue
I guess my heart still has its use

Ill represent your colors until the day I die
And keep the memories of us hanging out alive
it looks like we are both gonna have alot of strife
but I hope more than anything you come back into my life

Remember, Kenny loves you two
We are brothers even if the same blood doesnt flow through
I say proudly we are family, and if any asks, its true
I love you, stay outta trouble, this is for you D.W.

*Tears streaming down my face*

I am so sorry to read this...and know exactly how you feel having had my sister and her two kids move out of the family home yesterday....all because of a brother who is on drugs....my last poem tells about this.

I hope that things work out for you and your brothers and that you keep in touch with them.
Good write.
Hugs
Jenni
