An earlier sky.

LoveRemembered
|
It is in the silence of a sun perforated at the dawn of its own end that I remember you best, and in the ceaseless throb of the sea and the stars coming out of rest, I can almost see you. How the mist and sand rising at the small indention of your chest casually laughed and played along side you and coupled and loved you as if you were an empty shore, how the waves acted on your behest, and relinquished to your hands your beloved plastic bucket—how easily your tears subsided by that simple act of nature.
I remember how the sunlight woke you from your dreams and set them free in the edges of your eyes, sparkling at the vacancy of sky intertwined with white wings stretching from the folds of an earlier sky. My dreams pour forward also, out of the sting of memory and into the silent advance of sea gaining ground against the shore.
Many years have passed since I last thought of you, long years dancing at the sound of levity, hiding from the gravity of final moments long forgotten. In that time, as in all time, I have grown older, and you have grown weaker and smaller in my memory, but the strength of the sunlight scattering over dawdling stars converges on the heart, and in time all things come to the fore.
