Windows use to be for sunshine.

The daisy rests
In a tidy, glass vase
Upon my ragged dresser.
The only beauty
Inside the entire room.
It holds a million memories
From that single day.
And even though it's uncanny,
I'd sworn it could hold out in the rain.
The daisy starts to wilt,
In the dry, glass vase
Upon my dusty dresser.
I give it attention
And feed my memory life,
Only to watch it fade.
All my hope and faith
In just another plant,
How foolish of me
To think it indestructible.
The daisy remains pressed
In an old photo album,
Unwilling to be restored.
