My Escape

Contributed by net on Tuesday, 28th April 2009 @ 12:38:17 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

We all have a place we want to escape to
Closed in and feeling safe
In these lands vast and without mercy
Where pain roams and claims whomever it wants to
Like needles people bury themselves in our skin
And poison claims our blood and soul
We met and we talk trying to know each other
Trying to explain the mistakes we have done so far
Talking about loss and love and dreaming all along
But nevertheless the loneliness engulfs us all
And no matter how intimate we are with you
And how clear and plain we utter words
There is a hidden meaning in all
Fear and regret blooms in our minds
Uncertain thoughts turn our stomachs upside down
And we drink praising each others company
We laugh like there is no tomorrow
To forget we bet our lives at stake
And hopes are all there is worth living for

Come and listen to the song I've wrote yesterday
While I was wrestling with my meaningless sorrows
Today like everyday I pulled myself off the bed
And started counting the deeds I promised I had to do
Seeing the sun weary on its travel through the horizon
And realizing the time is already past the reason
I turned around and start staring at you
Oh the tears they won’t come anymore
And all my friends have already had enough of me
The stars won't return my gaze bored and tired
The night rejects the numbness I've so used to
And the songs they are wet, and they repeat themselves
The pictures ugly, memories old

Trapped in a maze I have once adored
See now what a man glorious succumb to
Steps towards innocence are steep and slippery
And the guardian denies my right to go through
Oh look at the ticket I still cling on to
It is worthless
Love’s not enough to save me sadly
Lock the door and let me disappear
I have nothing left to do

This entire write is so easy to relate to.

We all have a place we want to escape to
Closed in and feeling safe
In these lands vast and without mercy
Where pain roams and claims whomever it wants to
Like needles people bury themselves in our skin

This is so so true.
I enjoyed the entire write.
Better days must come to us all right?
There is that word hope again, but we must, no?

Michelle
