If Today Was My Last

Contributed by MoonlightKiss on Tuesday, 28th April 2009 @ 12:29:40 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

So many people take this life for granted
But I'd be a hypocrite if I were to complain
Too many souls losts, too many lovers left alone
To slowly drive themselves insane.

If today was my last day in this lifetime
If, by some miracle, I knew
I would say goodbye to everyone
If today was my last day to ever be with you.

So many friends I have that are broken
This world has a reputation to fade
Too many tears cried at night
So miserable, they hand their life to a blade...

And if today was my last day to see you
I would lie in your arms all night
If it was my final hour to love you
I would try to make up for each and every fight
If today was the day I'd lose my life
I'd tell you I love you, so many times I'd die
If today was the last time I'd get to savor your kiss
I'd cherish your touch and try hard not to cry.
