Climbing a mountain
A bright-haired boy, his sister and his brother
His father with the backpack, their water with his mother
Wonderful
They reach the summit
In this tropical atmosphere, stands a giant metal cross
White, tall, and overgrown, its base covered with moss
Beautiful
These are happy days
A family together; still young, ready to brave what's to come
The boy takes a swig from the waterbottle as if it was rum
Satisfied
The boy looks up the cross
Its welcoming arms outstretched, unbothered by rain, wind or storm
It seemed like a giant guardian to him, its unencumbered metal form
Awesome
The family stands together
The symbol of their commonality looming in the background
And take a photo, with the camera they always carry around
Together
But they grew up;
Although they are now apart, they're together
And even now they stand together in the weather
All's fine
And the boy looks back
At that old photograph, and remembers that cross
If his family's there, no matter what, nothing is lost
And everything will be...
Alright
