Tell Me?

Contributed by razorbladekisses on Sunday, 26th April 2009 @ 01:49:31 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

There are so many things
That you don't know
About my soul
If I opened the doors
And you peered in
Would you still tell me
That you loved me?

Remember when you found me?
I was slowly dying
And just when I thought it was time
To give up
You showed to me that there is more
To this bloody life
Than I ever thought

Do you dare to die?
I dare you to dare me
I've got these roses placed
Just right
But who am I kidding?
Your fragile bones
They'd break under this pressure
I see you crying
I see you dying
You wouldn't be able to
Handle this

Don't stress this
Move in the dark in your own way
It's not your understanding that I need
But if I were to opened up my soul
Would you still tell me
That you love me?

I have a question
My question is not
How long will you want me?
My question is
How long will you need me?
For as long as your lungs can still breathe
And your heart can still beat
So will mine
That's a promise
I will defend with my life

Please announce to me
When you can live on your own
And I am no longer the air in your lungs
For that is when
I shall let go
If I crumble at your feet
Forgive me
If it leaves you hurt
To see such a mess
I'll rebuild myself
With the strength that I have left
But once you turn away
I think I might just die

I want you happy
I want to see a real smile across your
Gorgeous face
If it makes you happy
That I am alive
Then that is exactly what I will be
If it makes you happy to see me happy
Then a smile will spread across my lips
Even when you don't need me
Or when you don't want me
Because I want to see you happy

There's so much to my soul
That you've never seen
And if I opened it up to you
Would you still love me?
How long will you need me?
Will there ever be a moment in your life
When you wouldn't want me?

I know that
There will never be a moment
In my life
When I wouldn't want you
When I wouldn't love you
When I wouldn't need you
I'm in love with you

overall I rather liked the images and themes you played with, but I felt like it could have had a more concentrated effect if it were shorter.
