When DOES the Bad End?

Contributed by rose on Wednesday, 31st July 2002 @ 01:28:32 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

I don’t know where to begin Lord
For there’s so much horrific activity going on
This in our World, but here at home
The news depicts more bad then good, but for how long?
Wishing for it to go away, a cover of disappearing foam

I know you brought me here to the city for a reason
It has opened my eyes and mind
But how long will I have to endure, there’s so much treason
I work for the local government; at first it was great
Now, I’m ashamed and hateful of this political kind

It’s only been two years here
I do love the river, and what I can of nature
The History and old architecture is something to peer
The Arts and museums are a mind feature
But the everyday experience of my work, cannot deny
The cases that go unnoticed, years gone by, without being touched
To say the least of the recent activity, I know now, the government will lie

I’m so grateful for the good I can see
What you do allow, thru those dark enemies
I know I cannot cure, help or even end all that distress
For it has always been, allowed all that to digress

Today, a twenty-three inch, four year old boy, died today
His parents starved him, was only twenty pounds
They have four beautiful healthy girls, who didn’t pay
The price of their brother, he lived a life of no loving sounds
The parents are not mental, just didn’t want him
So, Lord, this is normal of what we hear daily, news like this?
I know that child as others too, are in your care, fit and trim
Having their Angel wings, the love and care, here on earth was missed.

I know I cannot dwell on the bad news, there is good
Just why is it so more prolific, to see the tragic?
It appears that your word is being put under a hood
The government and hate groups want Your Word to go like magic
I know I must have Faith and Hope in YOU, God
Your Son Jesus, gave his life for US
Gave us his blood to wash ours and spare the Devils rod

My heart is compelled to write this now
For later I might feel anger and hate
I know I must be forgiving; my emotions get clouded somehow
Hearing and seeing all this tragic news, I look past that and pray
That what I read in the Book Of Revelations, is our fate
I do believe we’ve begun our demise to ourselves
So I hope I am one you do take and not let me stay
My Salvation has been yours awhile and is ready
Knowing its not going into that hot place of Hells
This I pray Lord, Who will come like a thief in the night
Take me, my book of life I hope not too petty
That I rejoice in YOUR great Kingdom of light

Withering in me, is the good. The bad?

The bad is everywhere. Impermeable, yet diffuse. I too, am a statistic on some governmental clipboard, I fear.

Though god has me. Has all of us.
