anguished

Your song of silence is a merciless death,
an extravagant torture,
and I sink slowly into
the quiet madness
you create.
I am guilty of nothing,
yet you stab me
with your cruel fingers,
those accusing knives,
and call me criminal.
Nurse, your hands are no longer
a bandage to my hurt,
they are clawed and emptied of beauty,
love is merely a shadow
you chase away with your jagged smile,
that terrible sun.
Mother, delve deep into my
blood-black sea and find
the child you imprisoned in that
marble womb.
She is a miraculous deformity,
Her mouth wide open in its gape
of infinite grieving.
She searches for your adoration
in the constant stream of brutality,
that rancid milk,
those black thorns too hot to swallow,
and she cries for you,
that ungodly sound,
offering her starved heart for you
to replenish,
to cease the burning,
and you regurgitate your
fraudulent rain that extinguishes
nothing.
Mother, you kill her daily,
yet she rises like a crippled hope,
a stubborn little weed
that settles for arsenic
because it touched your murderous hand
for a brief, delicious moment.
Mother, she and I shriek from the same desperate mouth.

Stephy, this is torturous. And so unwelcomly familiar. Brutal, as so many
of your emotions are when you paint them into descriptive poems
that rip the heart to shreds. Wilted and lonely in the aftermath of emotion.
Damn, hun. It's unbelievable that what harbours in your heart, so broken and
anguished, ALSO gives you reference for these masterful works. Your
passion is given wings by your talent and flies to us so unabashedly within
your words.
Amazing, as so much of your work is. I only wish the realness of this piece
were less so ~
*hugs you tight*
love you, girl

I haven't looked up oxymoron or analogy in a dictionary lately, but I am guessing the newer ones have examples from your poems in them. Freaking wow!
Also, this poem generated a river flowing of thoughts and emotions. Amongst them, a wonder "how did she survive all that?"
Hell on earth? This is hell.
Perfectly penned as usual.
