A Thousand Birds

I only see my nightmares, like perplex drawings of a disembodied truth yet to come.
I loath the visions of my mind, but forced discontinuity only feeds the urge.
Velvet skies painted red with the blood of our long dead grace, killed by the listless shadows hiding within our hearts.
Down pours the rain as if the heavens itself where crying.
Endless features of crazed fantasies and mountains of bones cover the earth.
Its quiet, but still the wind screams in agony.
I only see my nightmares, darkened hopes of youth long lost.
I crave for more to come, but I'm frightened of what they will show.
Vivid creatures of which words could never describe now feeds on this horrid scenery.
And down pours the rain.
A thousand birds fall to the ground the same time as another thousand lift their wings on a futile attempt of escape.
Its quiet still, but yet agony bites my ear.
I only see my nightmares, but sadly they aren't real.
