Origin of Souls

Today I conjoined with the dead
After hours in a hospital bed
These flowers are more alive than me
Bright-coloured sunbursts with leaves
Coloured cards and a yellow balloon
Continue reminding me to get well soon
Then I realised my time has just past
Though everyone thought I would last
And now it's too late to come back
To make up for the things that I lack
But my soul travels back on a string
Emerging from that white fleshy thing
From the Origin all things descend
With suffering and problems to tend
Thinking that life would be pleasant
As I became a part of the present
I was safe and secure in Mother's womb
Like being weaved together on a loom
But a sad revelation came to pass
As a human, we aren't meant to last
And then the pain came my way
And it came, then, day after day
I thought that the suffering would end
But it was something no-one could mend
So up this light-beam I continue to slide
Souls ascending with me on every side
To the Origin all souls shall ascend
All our earthly ties here finally to rend
As another life comes to an end
