In the Pouring Rain

Contributed by Innocent_Sinner on Friday, 24th April 2009 @ 12:31:56 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I stand in the pouring rain
Washing the sin from myself
The rain slides down my body;
Soft fingers tracing over my skin
I look to my left, and then my right
To both my lovers in the night
I must admit, she stole me away
But I know that he still feels hesitant

He stands inside
Bathed in the synthetic light
Afraid to see me so free
Frightened to touch the cleansed me
The feeling of fear is filling him
He has no right to see this
The other side of the fence
The side with the light

There she stands
In the dark, summer night's air
Smiling at how free and happy I look
And taking the steps to me
She comes to me
Embraces me
Loves me so purely
And I know she always will

I look up as the rain falls onto me
Closing my eyes, visualizing the sun
I know that all I can do is lie with him
In the bed that he never made
But with her, I don't have to lie
I can live freely
Being with her is healthy
He is a drug; an addiction
And I'm cleansing myself of him
In the pouring rain...
