The Story Of The Phantom Part 1

Contributed by The_Phantom on Thursday, 23rd April 2009 @ 10:08:03 PM in AEST
Topic: poets

People say I don’t write from the heart, that I just copy and paste my works of art,
Though some have cried, but I guess upon my death they’ll realize,
What I write is nothing but the truth, just read the words that’s your proof,

To those that doubt; that’s ok, we all started someplace, mine was a heartbreak,
I was 14 and her name was Melody,
I thought she was the one, my stars, my moon, my day and my sun,
She handed me a note that said goodbye, I felt my whole world crumble before my eyes,

So while I cried I wrote a few words that seemed to rhyme,
Before me lay a poem, a gift I’ve never known of,
I was stunned; where did this come from, thus the beginning of The Phantom,
In the early years it was a side of me seldom seen,

I’d write a poem than throw it a away, it was never to see the light of day,
My thoughts, my dreams, my joy, my pain, my hopes and my wishes,
All put into words then destroyed so no one could listen
So everyday I would write, it helped me though the tough times in my life,

Raised by a single mom, I was taught the basis and how to remain strong,
With a handicap sister; fighting became an everyday thing,
Without a father figure; I became an enemy unto myself with a short trigger,
Friends were hard to come by, but to me that was just fine……

To Be Continued………..

Forever Faithful
The Phantom
