Home over the horizon
Hoping just to gain a peek
Of what has so long left me
And all that I still seek
The warmth of hearth and family
No longer seems in reach
For something just as soothing
Is all that I still seek
So much of me now gone from here
No longer to be seen nor felt
How I wish for just a moment
to remember how it felt
Just above me something beckons
Could it be the well
Just over the horizon
The last escape from Hell

I can definitely relate to this subject. I loved this poem, it was an amazing read. The three, four lined, stanzas are traditional yet fit perfectly within the intended tone.
Excellent :-) |
