Topic: selfstruggles

Delerious with a need to break straining limbs,
release the chain that lays in his desperate fist and
fly beyond the sun, farther than the memory of you that stretches across the sky,
bending between planets and the source of my universal suffering.

I cannot conceal these mosaics any longer -

they swirl and implode like so many stars I can never wish on,
spreading a different type of madness, the kind that you can't return from.

Perhaps it was for the best, falling with such abandon.

but I wonder, in this purgatorial sleep, this half non-living,
if your bones shattered as beautifully as mine,

if your blood smiled in the sun as my own spilled secretly in darkness,
in those last moments when every breath was your name.

~*~

Flying wingless, for I am not meant to kiss the sun.

{ a shadow searching for light }

Tell me, darling... would I fade if I touched you?

~*~

For a quick one, this really got me thinking about shadows and facing the light, falling deeply and of course that last line..........
