Inside he’s happy,
Sure he’s got dark places too
But he’s always played the percentages
And a 70/30 split is Ok by him
He smiles a lot
At every body and anybody
And surprisingly they generally smile back
He has this way of looking at you
And you know it’s sincere
He’s an 83 year old teenager
Always poking fun and gigglin
He say’s he’s not perfect.
But I think he is
I think he’s one of those rare people
You know the one’s I mean
Still see the child in their eyes.
Looking under the leaves.
I’ll miss him when he’s gone
But then; he never really will be
He’ll always be part of who I am
And he knows that

That sounds like one of my best "older" friends. He isn't a relative, but I've adopted him. It's nice to be around people that are that full of life... It's almost like you are more full when you are around them. Great write!!!!

"Wherever the bright sun of heaven shall shine, his honour and greatness of his name shall be".....hENRY VIII....I cant stop quoting today!
Dave, this is just wonderful, what a lovely thought!
I think he will burst with pride when he reads this.
