She’s a broken girl,
But they’ve heard that before,
In the city, a new world,
All alone
Disheartened and removed,
It’s her fault they pass,
Not even a glance,
It’s okay
Sick of it?
She knows what sick is,
Now they look at her,
Too late
Love will come with beauty,
She’s so blind,
One too many sleepless nights,
All in vain
Pace the floor one more time,
It counts for nothing,
So much for homework,
Give up
She misses the people she loves,
They’ve moved on,
She sings a favorite song,
Last time
Happiness finally comes,
Silent, sleeping girl,
No more pain or self to blame,
She’s gone

I really liked this one, it reminds me of a girl I knew. I find the night to be an ideal time for writing, and your poem shows it. Very beautiful... |
