Unwanted Love

Contributed by Sarzie on Monday, 20th April 2009 @ 03:09:24 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

To not fall for someone that fell for me
To not break the cycle
To feel guilty of being naïve

Lack of experience
Lack of understanding and apprehension
Being told bluntly when I don’t want to hear it

I can’t break free of tension of what I can't control
He holds this tension
Holds me back from being myself

I fall back to an old reminder
Of Harry’s words of wisdom to Sally:
We could never be friends

The speaker is tragic, yet resigned to the fate which they seem to have suffered before. Altogether, a good write.

Hmmmm one of my favorite movies, and though that is a good line it sets the tone for some other good lines....like these;

Sally: You see, that is just like you Harry. You say things like that and you
make it impossible for me to hate you. And I hate you Harry... I really hate
you. I hate you.

(They kiss and make up.)

or this;

Sally: We were friends for a long time.

Harry: And then we weren't.

Sally: And then we fell in love.

Sorry, I can go on and on.
One other thing, of course it's just my opinion, if you have no feelings for someone, they have no control over you AND even when you think you are not being yourself, you are being yourself.

Great poem! All in all, I'd say you struck a nerve! ;)
