My sister, a fragile flower

Her hands soft like rose petals,
her grin rare and radiant,
slim, her body reminds me of a flower stem,
her hair, dark-brown and long, shimmers in the sun,
her eyes burn like red-hot iron
If only I could shelter her,
protect her from the minds of evil men,
if I could always be there to wipe away her tears,
to let her know the sun will come out, the clouds will go away,
that I won’t let the wind break her, a fragile flower
I’ll always be there to cry when she’s withering,
I will give up what is mine, my happiness for hers,
if only it will make her eyes open and shine,
if only it will make her loud sorrow turn into a quiet smile,
I could deal with whatever comes my way, until she cries again
