anguished
|
I am a killing phantom, an intricate chameleon
mirroring the heart that stirs me.
I cannot love you with human lips.
I will warn you now and confess that I am insatiable,
a mouth that demands the petals of your soul, the brine of your infinite agony -
we ache as only poets do,
between shadows that hold no secrets, but our frantic sighs.
'And I stir you?'
It is a humble whisper; I want to laugh and show precisely how you ruin me,
how you create tsunamis with merely a breath.
I would tangle myself in the web of your heart,
if only to sustain you,
to float in your starved veins, disintegrated,
useful for only a moment,
til I am banished from the sanctuary of your midnight husk.
I would make you tremble with my heat,
bury you in its unforgiving breast
like the perfect corpse
'til you gasp shamelessly and beg for a truer death.
Do you burn as I do,
at night when there is nothing but the hope of your kiss in a hopeless dream?
Sweet siren, does your heart ever cry for mine?

Okay, one of my very impulsive immediate thoughts, was, wow, you truly are a "serene demon". :-)
There is much in this poem. Passion, desire, anger, pain, darkness (it sort of scared me), and yearning. I know.. I'm probably missing a few but that's why I go back to read again and again; so that I can take it all in.
Take care,
Tim

Wow, Stephy, what a truly remarkable write. This is on F I R E !
Your choice of words and impeccable descriptions always tears away
at the heart and soul. It fosters an emotion from the very depths of passion,
desire, inspiration .... anguish! Your last line is so delectably fine. You are the
QUEEN of last lines, sweets. I feel so much in this. So much more than I wish I did.
Beautiful writing, as always, ma cher ~

Your poetry is like plunging oneself uncontrollably into a burning flame just to let it consume you, a both scary and thrilling experience. |
