I'm Not A Poet

Contributed by dhart420 on Monday, 13th April 2009 @ 09:45:51 PM in AEST
Topic: poets

I'm not really a poet
According to the critics
It seems I break all the rules
With my fancy lol's and brb's
Nobody knows what it means

LMAO

Whats that?

I can speak in ryhmes
Sometimes

I try not to misspeel words
Two much

What else you need
I really don't know
Apparently there are "rules"
You know for every rule there's an exception
You're in luck if you're a dyslexic

Then you just wonder what selur is

I don't know if this "poetry" thing is for me
I guess I'll just wait and see
Scratch that
I got A.D.D
No short term memory
Oh look there goes a bee!......

.........
..............
What was I doing?

Oh well.....there you go
If you hate this poem let it show
Put your opinion in the box below

If you liked it
So did I
*sigh*

Trust me on this there is no rules in poetry, poetry is what you feel, and as for the critics, I don't pay them no mind, cause most of them are just upset cause they don't have the guts to pour out their soul for all to see. Well done.

Aha. I loved this!
It made me smile(:
There are absolutely no rules for poetry! Free write is the way to go. You don't need to pay any attention to how many words are in each line, whether your last word in one row rhymes with another. Just write. Write whatever you like.(:

If you call it a poem or if you call yourself a poet you are and poems are what you write
no one has to understand it as long as you like what you've written

great write
hope to read more soon

it's a poem, you're a poet. there are all kinds of poems and all kinds of poets.

your kind of poet doesn't pay too much attention to rules, so be it. I thought this poem was clever

if you write only to express yourself you don't have to be concerned with rules. But if you write to "affect" others you will attract a MUCH wider audience if you pay some attention to a few of the "rules" of poetry. Even unrhyming free verse poetry can either roll off the tongue or tie it up

write on

Oh, this one had me in stitches! I adore the humour put in it... It's quite cleverly set up and openly displayed... Do keep writting like this every now and then :)
