Anti-war

Contributed by Destiny on Wednesday, 26th March 2003 @ 12:45:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

You tell me I have no right to speak against my country's decision.
But what about the freedom of speech?
I'll speak my opinion until I can speak no more
You can threaten me
it will only make me stronger.
If I want to protest I will
put me in jail I'll be back.
We are the people
Bush can't speak for us all
He made a decision without listening to us
he declared war.
He didn't care about our opinions.
He had no right
I can argue this all day
but why bother?
it goes in one ear and out the other
he doesn't care
it's obvious
he's not over there fighting
next to our families and friends
there was this woman in Texas
who had to find out that her son,
her own blood,
Was a P.O.W.
Did the government tell her?
No she found out from the TV.
Bush you act as though,
you're doing this for us.
For man kind.
You're doing this for your ego
you don't care who you take down with you.
Look and think
Think about what we want
before you open your mouth
and declare war

very pwerful. You are right about freedom of speech. However I find no point on protesting a war thats already going. We as Americans need to come together be UNITED and support our troops and what they are doing. Noone wants to see war but it is here.

I couldn't agree with you more about supporting our troops but they shouldn't have to be over there. I don't blame them or anything, quite the opposite I think they're braver then the one who decided on war, Bush.

I completely agree with you that you have the right to your opinion and speak your mind. I am a military wife and I don't like this war either. But, I support my husband and our troops and will do so till my dying breath. You have eloquenty put your thoughts and feelings here ad I applaud you for that.

I hope everything goes well for you and your family. I couldn't support our service men more and my dad was a marine so I know that it's not easy to have family in situations like that. We can't do much more then to hope and pray that they come back safe.
