I Wish You Weren't There

Contributed by flamingblade on Thursday, 9th April 2009 @ 11:58:46 AM in AEST
Topic: SecretLove

I used to see you everyday,
It's more than I can bear,
Now I only see you from far away
I wish you weren't there.
Up on stage, or just across the street,
Getting used to the distance
has become quite a feat.
I wish you weren't there.
As much as I've tried,
I can't push you away.
You hurt me so much,
but in my heart you will stay.
I wish you weren't there.
It seems like nobody sees the pain
That I deal with everyday,
but it's in vain.
I still have to see your face,
in my mind, my dreams.
I wish you weren't there.
I've moved on as best I can,
and tried to forget. But it
seems impossible, so I can't .
Forget you and your beautiful face
the one I used to adore.
Somehow I manage to keep in place
my secret, my painful affection.
I'm tired of lying, crying, and trying
and I can't let my heart keep breaking.
You're still in here, no matter what I do.
It makes no difference how hard I try.
you manage to stay lodged in my heart,
please go away.
It seems you'll always be in her arms.
I wish you weren't there.

Ouch! Oh, that ending is p a i n f u l !

The indignities and anguish of unrequited love is probably one of
the most harsh emotions we have to endure when coming face to
face with reality. Your words spread that emotion so well, and draw
the reader into your pain so easily. Anyone who's ever been a victim
of love unanswered, (and who hasn't?), can't possibly read this without
feeling a twinge of melancholy and a host of painful remembrances.

Beautifully done ~

~ Breezy

I loved this part of you exposed
If one has never loved and lost
your words are so sincere
I smiled cause I could relate
Swallowed my heart cause I know
the pain of true love and her beautiful face
Heres to healing cheers
