My Hearts Last Beat

Topic: goodbyepoetry

My Hearts Last Beat

My voice cries out in silent pleas
Everyone passes, yet no one sees
My heart is near its final beat
There is someone new I have to meet

Not much time left to do my deeds
I still have unplanted seeds
The mission that was placed within my care
Was for me alone, though some tried to share

Their help for which I will be always glad
They never knew how much influence they had
Now as my heart slows to forever stop
I do not want them to think I forgot

A few more beats is al I have left in time
Believe me when I say the pleasure was all mine
As the final pulses thump in my chest
I know I have given life my best

As so many said to me when I was, at what seemed my lowest, I hope that this is just writing and that it isnt going to be put into action. This was a great piece of writing dont get me wrong but just know that you have a friend here if you need to talk. Although we think that we are meant to walk this path alone...we are joined by friends to help us bear our heavy loads.

I doubt if a person who didn't experience something terrible could write such a great poem.
